This is the beginning of an assisted hatch. Here I have a good part of the wide end of the egg removed. The baby's head is exposed and there's still a lot of membrane that has not been removed.

Here I have a bit more of the wide end of the shell removed. I'm gently removing/cleaning up the membrane that is covering the baby's face.

Now you can clearly see that this baby is an ino. Even though the eyes are closed, the pink coloring shows through the translucent skin. I haven't moved anything so the wing is still alongside of the head on the left side and you can see a tiny foot on the right side. Please note that the narrow end of the shell is still untouched.

With a bit more of the shell at the wide end removed, I move the baby's head to check to see if the yolk sack has been absorbed. There is no mustard colored sack so I can finish what I started. Here you can see both feet. The material just under the shell is all part of the umbilical cord. The greenish material tells me this baby has eliminated at least once.

Given the chance, the baby will get out of the shell without any help. I just hold it in my hand and let the baby wiggle out.

The baby is out of the shell and you can see where the umbilical cord was attached to his abdomen. You can also see the inner abdominal organs through the translucent skin. There's a bit of dropping that I haven't cleaned yet but I will do that before I return this baby to his foster mother.
